Summer Crime Prevention

With the summer holidays underway and more people spending time away from home, we are asking residents to take a few simple steps to reduce opportunities for criminals:

🔒 Ensure all doors, windows, sheds and garages are locked, even when you are at home or only leaving for a short time.

🚗 Remove valuables from vehicles and always lock them. Do not leave bags, phones, laptops or tools on display.

📱 Be alert to fraud and scams. Criminals continue to target people through text messages, emails, phone calls and online marketplaces. If something feels suspicious, stop and verify independently before making payments or sharing personal information.

🚲 Secure bicycles with a quality lock and, where possible, register them on a recognised property-marking scheme.

👀 Look out for your neighbours, particularly those who may be vulnerable or away on holiday. Report suspicious activity promptly.

📞 In an emergency, always call 999. For non-emergency matters, report online or call 101.
